Mother’s Day Banquet – May 11th at 5pm
Laura Sommons felt the call to speak to women some 30 years ago in her college speech class where she attended Clark Summit University. She is the youngest of four siblings who grew up as “PK’s.” Laura has a powerful testimony of what it means to be made in God’s image and to battle the lies that the deceiver would have us all believe. Through the years God has allowed many different roles to be a part of her life. She has been married to the love of her life, Shawn for the past 32 years and they have three beautiful daughters, 2 sons, and one precious granddaughter. She currently is on staff at her home church where she serves as the Women’s Ministry Leader. It is there that she leads in Bible studies, mentors, encourages, counsels, and most importantly loves. It is because of the love God has lavished on her that she has been able to pour that same love out on the lives of the women she serves. She has been active in women’s ministry for over 20 years. In 2016 God called her to start Lavishly Loved Ministry. Based on Deuteronomy 7:9 her desire is first and foremost that women know Jesus as their personal Savior, that His grace is greater than all our sin, and that His love for us is for a thousand generations. Lavishly Loved is what she believes God’s word says about all who have put their hope in Him. In 2018 Laura believed that the Lord was directing her to go back to school. She finished her degree in Bible and Theology at Clarks Summit University and graduated in May 2023. Laura would cherish the opportunity to come and share God’s truth at your next special women’s event, MOPS morning, or conference.
