Singles Life

When and Where

The Singles Life group is currently meeting every Tuesday night at the Perkoski's home... email or call (610-432-3414) the church office for more info and directions! Also, remember to check the church calendar of upcoming events for singles related events.

Why

Many people in this day find themselves single for one reason or another. This can sometimes be for a relatively brief season before marriage, after the heartbreaking result of a divorce or death, or as a result of a life long decision. Regarding this, consider 1 Corinthians 7:32:

I would like you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the Lord's affairs - how he can please the Lord.

Singles are an extremely valuable resource in the sight of God, in a unique way; singles can focus on the things of God without the standard distractions encountered by those who are married. When single Christians commit to focusing on the things of God, seeking His kingdom first, not only will this result in a dynamite Christian, but this person will also be a great candidate for marriage because they have taken the time to develop properly in their walk with God.

Singles Life is to help focus on this season of life as an opportunity to

  • draw closer to the Lord through the study of His Word
  • provide opportunity for fellowship with others who will nurture, challenge, and help one another to grow in service and relationship with the Lord and fellow believers
  • encourage each other in reaching out to a lost and dying world.

In other words, single adults are welcomed and encouraged to be a vital and enriching part of the church family.

As the Singles Life outreach at FBC continues to grow, you can look for many
opportunities, some existing, others coming, for the single adult. We are
working on multiple studies for Sunday School times, group meetings, and a
variety of fellowship opportunities... as well as special topics that will
include single parenting concerns, a biblical perspective on dating, and
other areas of related interests. Our time together will not center solely
around the church building: look for a variety of outdoor events, such as
wilderness trips/nature outings, sporting events, social gatherings, rock
climbing, and many other options.
