| Do you love God with "all
your heart and all your soul and all your mind", but find it
hard sometimes to practice the "mind" part? Would you
like to be better prepared to fulfill Colossians 4:6 and 1 Peter
3:15, having a rational defense for your faith? Would you like to
have answers for the difficult questions regarding science and the
Bible, ethics, and theology? This is the place to be!

Current Activities
The Reasonable Faith study group meets at
6 pm on Sunday afternoons in the Disciples classroom. All are
welcome.
Starting 17 Sept 2006:
We will be doing a book study on Nancy
Pearcey's Total
Truth. Please contact Pat McNamara if you'd like
a book, or you may get your own.
We are tackling about one chapter
per week.
Past activites
Book studies on Francis Schaeffer's "Escape
From Reason", JP Moreland's "Love Your God With All Your Mind",
and on Ken Samples "Without
a Doubt - Answering the 20 Toughest Faith Questions".
Video curriculum - Making
Abortion Unthinkable - The Art of ProLife Persuasion from Greg
Koukl's Stand To Reason organization.
After doing it several years ago, we've recently
repeated the "Good
Science, Good Faith" video series from Reasons
to Believe. As a followup, we looked at the issue of death before
the fall; the presentation given, based on RTB's Death Before the
Fall audio set, can be downloaded here:
Eariler this year, we've completed the video
curriculum "Jesus Among Other Gods", where renowned apologetics
scholar Ravi Zacharias simply yet incisively contrasts the truth
of Christ against founders of Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism; shows
doubters how "other gods" don't measure up; and equips
you to share the "blueprint for life" with others.
Previously, we viewed the video "Unlocking
the Mystery of Life", a superbly made video that looks at the
latest biochemical evidences for Intelligent Design.
We've also recently completed the following
materials from Norm Geiler's
Impact Apologetics and John
Ankerberg:
From Reasons to Believe, we've viewed the
multi-week Young
Earth vs Old Earth debate that had been broadcast on the John
Ankerberg show.
We've also covered Lee Strobel's The
Case for Christ, as well as Micheal Behe's Darwin's
Black Box.
We've done a 13-week video series from Ravi
Zacharias based on his book "Deliver us From Evil".
From the same ministry we listened to an address to Ohio State University.
We've covered much material from Stand
to Reason, on topics such as Tactics
in Defending the Faith, abortion (The
Art of ProLife Persuasion), stem cell research, a Christian
response to homosexuality, and Responding
to Relativism: A Conversation with Dr. Francis Beckwith and Gregory
Koukl.
We've viewed and discussed various debates
from the John Ankerberg
show featuring Norm Geisler and Rabbi Harold Kushner, on the Problem
of Evil, and Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People? We've also
covered a debate from that show between Hugh Ross and Kent Hovind
on the Young
Earth / Old Earth debate. And we've looked at some differences
between evangelical Protestantism and Roman Catholicism in the John
Ankerberg Video Debate: Do Roman Catholics and Protestants Agree
on Justification and Papal Infallibility?
